Roi Tavor

Managing Director Google Cloud Schweiz & Österreich

Roi Tavor is the Managing Director of the region Switzerland and Austria at Google Cloud as of June 2022.

Roi joined Google Cloud in Zurich as Head of Financial Services in November of 2021; in this role Roi led the sales activities for financial services companies and engages with numerous global banks and insurance companies based in Switzerland to strategically drive cloud adoption, support the industry’s digital transformation and enhance customer satisfaction.

Roi has more than 15 years of financial services experience as an entrepreneur and as a senior executive at Google and Swiss Bank Julius Baer.

Before Roi joined Google Cloud, he co-founded Nummo, a data-driven open banking application for the US market. Prior to that Roi spent over a decade with bank Julius Baer, where he served as one of the firm’s senior executives and a member of the Management Advisory Board. As Managing Director he held various positions including Deputy Region Head Intermediaries and Head Intermediaries Americas and Africa.

Roi is an attorney and graduated from the University of Basel in Switzerland with a law Degree in 2002. He also holds a Master's of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.

In his free time Roi enjoys swimming, squash and classical music, and as a husband and father
of a daughter and two sons he is spending a lot of time with his family.

Jan-Egbert Sturm

Director KOF und Professor für Angewandte Makroökonomie, ETH Zürich

Jan-Egbert Sturm ist Professor für Angewandte Makroökonomie, Direktor der KOF Konjunkturforschungsstelle der ETH Zürich, Herausgeber des European Journal of Political Economy und Mitglied mehrerer Beiräte im In- und Ausland. In seiner Forschung stützt er sich stark auf empirische Methoden und Statistik, und arbeitet insbesondere in Bereichen der Makro-, Monetäre und Politische Ökonomie, die einen engen Bezug zu praktischen und aktuellen Themen haben. Er war bis March 2022 Vizepräsident der Swiss National Covid-19 Science Task Force im Mandat des Eidgenössischen Departements des Innern und des Bundesamts für Gesundheit. 

Seine Doktorarbeit schloss er 1997 ab. Im Jahr 2000 war Sturm Gastprofessor an der School of Business der Bond University in Australien. Anschliessend leitete von 2001 bis 2003 die Abteilung Konjunktur und Finanzmärkte des ifo Instituts für Wirtschaftsforschung (Deutschland) während er gleichzeitig eine Professur an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in München innehatte. Danach lehrte er an der Universität Konstanz und leitete gleichzeitig das Thurgauer Wirtschaftsinstitut (TWI). Im Oktober 2005 wechselte er an die ETH Zürich.
