Yvan Lengwiler is a highly accomplished individual, with extensive experience and expertise in academia, finance, and investments. After serving as a tenure track professor at the University of Basel from 2001-2005, he was appointed as a full professor and later served as the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics from 2013 to 2016.
Lengwiler's contributions extend beyond the academic realm. He served as a member of the Board at the Swiss Financial Market Authority (FINMA) from 2012 to 2019 and was a member of the nomination committee and take-over committee. Prior to this, he held various positions at the Swiss National Bank from 1994-2001, including economist, senior economist, and economic adviser in the Monetary Research Division.
In the area of investments, Lengwiler has served as the Vice-President of the investment committee of the pension fund of the government personnel of Basel (pension fund of Kanton Basel-Stadt PKBS, CHF 12 billion) from 2004 until 2022. He is also a member of the investment committee of the pension fund of the department store Manor (CHF 2 billion).
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Lengwiler is also a member of the board and the investment committee of the Max Geldner-Stiftung foundation, highlighting his commitment to philanthropic work.
